The Houston Independent Counseling Department is promoting Five Ways Education Pays. At Johnston Middle School, students have listened to announcements and viewed posters promoting this slogan. Students were encouraged to participate in a drawing on November 16, 2011. Students had to list the Five Ways Education Pays on a piece of paper and put it in a container in the cafeteria. The winner of the drawing was Brayan Nieto.

Houston ISD sponsored a parent rally for Five Ways Education Pays at Delmar Stadium where our own Johnston choir was invited to be a part of the entertainment. Thank you to Valerie Allen, Dean of students at Johnston Middle School for leading us through this important part of our students' awareness that education pays!
