This program focuses on news writing and television production, culminating in news bulletins and school commercials for the daily Johnston news, aired through the campus broadcast properties.
The broadcast journalism program is taught in a newsroom equipped with cameras, computers, and audio/video editing equipment. The students not only learn the hands-on skills necessary to cope with basic and new technologies, but also the critical thinking, writing and reporting skills necessary to meet the challenges of the news world. Ethics and diversity are stressed in all classes as students are prepared to make decisions on short deadlines.
