Johnston art students participated in a Drug Prevention Poster Contest sponsored by the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities (SDFSC) Department.

Ms. Christina Gutierrez, one of the Art teachers at Johnston Middle School, is proud to announce that Johnston has a first–place regional winner, Rebeca Pacheco, who was recognized at the annual Poster-Art Awards Ceremony. This event was held on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Board Auditorium at the Hattie Mae White Educational Center. Each winner received medals and their families were invited to attend the ceremony in honor of their outstanding work. Receiving second place in region, Ethan Cantu will receive a ribbon for his participation and outstanding work!

Rebeca Pacheco placed not only first in the region but also second in the district! We are Johnston Proud of both of these students!
